Pens vs Caps

Round two of the Eastern conference playoffs will feature the Penguins taking on the Capitals while the Bruins take on the Hurricanes. These are both going to be good series, but there is no question the Pens vs Caps series will be the one that draws all the media's attention. There is no two teams in the NHL that boast more star power than these two. For the Penguins you have mega stars Crosby and Malkin and for the capitals its AO and Semen who doesn't qualify in my book as a mega star but is a solid player. I predict the Penguins win this series in 6, and Orpik destroys AO at some point and time in this series. There would be no greater feeling than to bounce this Washington team from the Playoffs. Does anybody else agree with me that the Capitals have passed the Flyers as the Penguins most hated rival. Game one of this series starts Saturday at 1:00 pm in Washington.

  1. I agree with you, I think Pens in 6. I'd say 5, but we all saw what happened when we were up 3-1 against the Flyers with a chance to ice it, so 6 it is.

As for Caps nicknames...we have 'Semen', as you already stated (I am guessing that was intentional), whOvechkin, Niklas BackDoorStrom, Brooks Laich-A-Retard, and the not-on-the-team-but-still legendary Olaf Blows-zig.

    GO PENS!!

  2. Pens vs. Caps... Love it!

This is the match-up that I’ve been waiting to see. Crosby and Malkin vs Ovechkin and Semin… and it looks like the Caps may have found a goalie that can stop a shot or two.

Too bad they all ready voted for the MVP. I believe that this series will expose Ovechkin for being a “Want to be Bully” and provide a forum for Malkin to showcase his talents to the world. Lets face it…Semin is the real talent on the Capitals anyway.

I foresee the Crosby line shutting down Ovechkin and look for Orpik and Kuntz to be dishing out some "Free Candy".

  4. The reality is that maybe the Pens win one or two games here ... don't get your hopes up kids.

  5. We are superior to them in almost every category. The only place i give the Capitals an advantage is on the PP. The Penguins have a better penalty kill, Better D, better goaltending, and more depth at the forward position.

  6. Its over...Fleury is getting outplayed by a 21 year old with less tahn 15 games of total experience...Malkin cant step up in the big stage...Staal is back to his old no show self and the rest of the wingers are doing terrible...

Bottom line is we are playing soft and the Fleury is not stepping up....If Fleury was playing good then I would say we got a chance but the fact is that Fleury is playing average....

    Like I said, its over
